Book Recommendations by Kawther Benouis

“All great minds must come from other great minds” Me, I said that

Books are meant to teach you, however, the best books are the ones that do so without your realization.

As someone who had read over 500 books for the past 6 years, I am here to share the books that changed my perception

The books that challenged my thinking, the books that shaped my writing and the books that opened a whole different world for me as well as the books that unleashed my inner writer.

The list where it all came for, maybe it can do the same for you.

The Books

This book is a powerful reminder of how deeply conditioned we are — especially when it comes to recognizing what’s happening in our minds and bodies, and how the two connect. The Art of Receiving and Giving is particularly valuable for people who have experienced past abuse and struggle to articulate or even feel their own consent. I highly recommend it for anyone on a healing journey or trying to better understand boundaries, touch, and communication.

You are going to see many of Milan Kundera in here, well because he is awesome and I love him. Immortality for me is the best Kundera had ever written. This book is a bridge between the past and present, reminding us the human condition remains the same.

One thing I love about The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera is how unapologetically he writes — with no hesitation, no filter, just pure thought on the page. The title quite literally captures the essence of the book, yet reading it is an experience that keeps deepening, layer by layer. It’s not just a story — it’s a meditation, and somehow, it only gets better as you go.

The book that helped me unleash my inner Anais and write so transparently. Connect with my femininity even if it was different from what is generally perceived as feminine. Reading her made me feel understood in my contradictions. Any volume will do, but I started with Henry and June.

Each week I share something personal, thought provoking on a subject I choose, or sometimes one you choose.

A journal entry, an idea that won’t leave me alone, and most importantly, things you can’t say out loud.
